Thank you to our awesome sponsors!
We are so thankful for each and every one of our sponsors! We believe they deserve recognition for supporting and allowing us to be able to accomplish all we do! VHS FCCLA is so thankful!
Thank You, Veterans High School
Veterans High School is the home of our FCCLA Chapter! We are incredibly thankful for our CTAE department that allows us to have an FCCLA organization. We also want to thank our principals that always support our members when competing in STAR events and allowing us to take field trips to enhance our experience. Last year, it was decided that the in person state leadership conference would be cancelled due to Covid, and it would be all virtual. Our competitors were very upset because everyone looks forward to going to state. Our chapter advisor talked to our principal and was able to allow our competitors to be exempt from class that day in order to gather in the library for our own version of State Leadership Conference. We were able to decorate the library and reserve it all day just for FCCLA! We ordered Chick-Fil-A and did the virtual conference all together just like if we were in person. This was all possible because of our hardworking advisor and our supportive school family.

Thank you to our Amazing community!
A big part of our FCCLA chapter being so successful is because of our many community partnerships! We are so thankful to have such an amazing and supportive community that is always willing to help! Our chapter has had the privilege of partnering with these groups for community service opportunities and operational needs.
Thank you, Friends of Perry Animal Shelter
Friends of Perry Animal Shelter or FOPAS has partnered with our FCCLA chapter in order for us to complete community service and a STAR Event project. Two of our members , Kyndal Crawford and Raegan Bourke, reached out to FOPAS and asked them if they would be okay with allowing us to donate items and conducting a STAR event project in their honor. The shelter is always in need of good donations so of course they were okay with it. Our Chapter has been accepting the shelters most needed items in order to donate as a part of our chapter community service and a big part of one of our STAR events. FOPAS has been very supportive and encouraging throughout the whole process and we are so thankful!

Thank you, to Summerhill Assisted Living
Our nursing homes in Houston county do so much for the residents by taking care and providing for them. A lot of the residents rarely get visitors and are stuck in this confined place lacking cheer. We reached out to one of our local nursing homes to ask for a number of residents and if they would be okay with us dropping off and delivering some fun holiday cards to boost the spirits of residents. Our members enjoy getting to use their craft skills and make Christmas and Valentine's cards for the sweet residents. We have had really good results in member turnout for making these cards and feedback from the workers and residents who have said our cards really help make these times cheerful! We thank this great nursing home for allowing us to come in and not only get community service hours but help make the residents feel loved!

Thank you, Westmoreland and Slappey Animal Hospital
Westmoreland Animal Hospital has allowed Job shadowing opportunities for our STAR event competitor , Ava Trussell. We are so thankful for their generosity and allowing Ava to come in and have the chance to see what it is like living a day in the life of a veterinarian. Ava took all the information and things she learned from this informational day and completed her STAR event that won 1st in the nation! We couldn't be more thankful enough for Westmoreland and Slappey allowing her this opportunity.

Thank you, Hilltop Elementary School
Hilltop Elementary School is one of many elementary schools in our county. One of our members, Jasyria Moody, reached out to one of the teachers and the principal of Hilltop to talk about coming in and Job shadowing her selected teacher as a part of her STAR event. We are so thankful for Hilltop Elementary allowing Jasyria to come in in order to complete her job shadowing. This allowed her to finalize all the information she need to complete her STAR event!
